Another great well written story in the Blood of Duncliffe Series. This is Claudine Epsworth the daughter of the earl of Estridge, is sent to Scotland by him. She is at Duncliffe Manor the home of Douglas and Marguerite. When she meets Brogan McRae, leader of the clan McRae. But the man her father has said she is to marry comes, Dunstan South is a cruel man. The twists/turns, suspense, drama, and romance made this a really good story.

I was So Amazed with this one! This book brought in a person not in the Ton and Won! Even her father was So Well Written in this book!I do hope to see more like this one.Thank you Olive Bennett, thank you.

A very good book that held my interest

I liked everything about this book. There were quite a few surprises as you read along. I loved the surprise ending.

If you are looking for an enjoyable, easy read then you will like this sweet story of romance. I am not a fan of short stories - I like back stories and more detail - but I found this story line to be pretty good. Nothing out of the ordinary, but kept my interest. There is the predictable sex scene - only one - that the author managed to do better than most: she left some parts to the imagination. Kudos!I found a couple of "hiccups" along the way . Had the author gone back thru more thoroughly, she would have found one to be very noticeable. No spoilers. Unfortunately, for me, these types of boo-boos I see as carelessness. I read a few other reviews - other novels from this author - with the same complaint. Author really needs to focus on this. I still gave 4 stars because I enjoyed the read. There are no complex characters nor twists and turns. Just an endearing hero and heroine whose romance is what most anyone would die for!! A feel good story. You have the rough and tough looking, brawny, handsome Scott, Braden, and the lovely English lass, Claudine - Braden's lady love. Loved his accent!! So sexy and charming. There is the ever present whole political tension thing going on between the Jacobites and Hanoverians. And of course, the thwarted, evil doer: Claudine's fiancé. This is the very man her father has arranged for her to marry. There's only one thing for Claudine to do - run!!

Lady Claudine was introduced to the gentleman that her father wanted her to think about marrying him. He then sent her to Scotland her cousins Marguerite and Douglas. When she arrived they had a guest by the name Brogan, Laird McRae. Lady Claudine was not comfortable around Brogan for he had long red hair a beard and wore a kilt after she had been there for a couple of days Dunstan, Baron South the man who Claudine father had introduced her to as a possible husband. He was very rude man to every. And decided to force Claudine into going home with him whether she wanted to or not. She got upset about this and went outside the garden where it rained on her she got sick. Brogan helped nurse her back to health. After the doctor said she could get up and walk around he walked her out to the garden and back into the house where Dunstan told her that he was leaving in the morning and she was going with and she had no choice in the matter. To find out what happens and how things end up you have to read the book its very good book and should give you hours of reading enjoyment.

“The Highlander’s Runaway” is the sixth book in Ms. Ferguson’s Blood of Duncliffe series. I love reading Emilia’s Scottish Historical Romances. Her books always entertain and tell a wonderful romance that blends a heartwarming love story with a substantive plot. I loved the main characters of Lady Claudine and Brogan. She was torn between family duty or following her heart. He had been burned by love before and did not want to have a repeat of that experience. Their unexpected attraction and the consequences made for a intriguing storyline. The plot had some surprises and twists as well as a villain. The concluding epilogue was beautifully written and heartfelt. I really liked Prudence’s actions toward the end. I never like to give specific plot detailed because I don’t want to ruin the book for other readers and writing is an author’s livelihood. I enjoyed this novel and highly recommend it. I look forward to reading future books in this series.I received an advanced readers copy from the author. This is my honest opinion about her book.

This is the sixth of the Duncliffe Castle series. Claudine is sent to visit her cousin Marguerite now married to Douglas, the young Earl of Duncliffe. She arrives to be introduced to Brogan McRae, the Laird whose property adjoins Douglas' as they make defensive plans for the expected war. She is initially put off by him with his long red hair, beard, and kilt exposing his legs. But she also sees instances of tenderness. Within a couple days a visitor from England shows up-Dunstan South her father introduced her to as his choice for her to marry-and immediately is rude to Brogan and bossy to her. A few days of activities such as riding with neighbors and a ball as this type of behavior continues, Claudine must escape Duncliffe and of course, Laird McRae is right there to help. Adventure, deep friendship leading to love, and run ins with soldiers make a great story! Another great Duncliffe story!
