I found this book to be very helpful when I began teaching on Blackboard. Blackboard arrived on time and in great shape. The organization of the book helps me to locate what tips I need without having to read through the entire book. As a newcomer to blackboard, I am grateful to the authors for their step by step tips.
Copyright 2006! Seven years later, Blackboard is quite different. This volume will help those who already have a good deal of experience, but it will not do much for those who are just learning. OTOH, I got it for $5 plus shipping.
It is a bit outdated. But for the basics, it was helpful. I teach for a local university and was recently asked to develop a course using BlackBoard. And the school is switching to the new version of BB as of December 2013, further dating the book. But for the basics, it is still useful and a good reference as you move through the steps of course development.
There are a great deal of tutorials on line now for Blackboard so I don't think a book is necessary anymore and this book is older.
I like the entire composition of the book. Instructions were easy to follow. I completed the assignments effectively
Helpful, but remember, the common sense here may not be applicable to the standards at your school.
Okay, but a bit ponderous. It doesn't seem laid out well. Still it is useful and necessary.
